Half - plate "acrylotype" taken during the Jamboree at John's farm 2006. This is made on black acrylic which I was trying out for the first time at John's. About 3mm thick with a peelable paper coating. Dead black which is ideal for the process as well as excellent adhesion qualities. Heavy "pour line" at the upper right due to using thicker collodion than I normally use in NZ. In so saying though, Wayne's mixture worked well and I'm forever thankful to him and John for the use of their chemistry while I was at the event.....

Teepee at John's farm

One of John's teepees which visitors can use when attending classes or while at the Jamboree. This was supposed to be my home away from home while at the Jamboree but the offer of hot showers and home comforts from Wayne Pierce in his RV meant that I "wimped out" rather than roughing it !! Half-plate tintype.

Half - plate ferrotype made by Wayne Pierce at John Coffer's 2006. We all formed a circle and "shot" the person opposite...You can see my arm is double exposed as I removed my lens cap and the long exposure has caught the arm in two or three positions.

Half - plate ferrotype at the Buffalo Days shoot near Dubois WY 2006. Note the unusual marks which appear on the nearest lodge. Will Dunniway and I scratched our heads over these, but finally came to the conclusion that the paint I'd used on the inside of the plate holder was reacting with the collodion in the high temperatures we were experiencing and creating these marks.This was the first image I'd made since building the camera and the problem was fixed by coating the interior of the holder with collodion....
